Mahogany Woodland was always an avid reader since the tender age of five. From her passion of reading which went on well into adulthood she always dreamed of becoming an author. Her dream didn’t come into fruition until the summer of her junior year in college when she was unable to find summer employment so she decided to take a dab at writing novel. That summer Mahogany wrote 50 pages towards that novel, which turned into her first published novel entitled "Freshmen Honeys". Freshmen Honeys will take you through the first year college experiences of seven freshmen divas and the trials and tribulations that they go through.

Mahogany has recently re-released "Freshmen Honeys" and the much anticipated sequel, entitled "Sophomore Blues" under her own publishing company, Dream Chasers Publishing, LLC. Mahogany launched Dream Chasers Publishing, LLC in March 2011 as way to have full control of her works as well as a way to assist and consult aspiring authors on how to achieve their dream of becoming a published author. Personal

Mahogany Woodland graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2006, with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Studies. She then attended the George Washington University School of Business for graduate school and graduated in 2008 with a Masters in Tourism Administration. However, she always had a passion and desire to work in a field that would impact lives; especially the lives of children. For that reason, she began to pursue a career in teaching through the Prince George’s County Resident Teacher program, an alternative certification program for non-education majors, which also provided her the opportunity to earn her second Master’s degree in Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Mahogany is currently a Special Education teacher in the county that she grew up in. After seeing that there was a need was a need for the young girls in her school to have more positive influence in their life, Mahogany took it upon herself to start a mentoring program at her school, and loves being able to make a change in young people’s lives.

Mahogany Woodland is a dedicated teacher, mentor, author, and business owner. In her spare time she enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends and family.
