Mahogany Woodland was always an avid reader since the tender age of five. From her passion of reading which went on well into adulthood she always dreamed of becoming an author. Her dream didn’t come into fruition until the summer of her junior year when she was unable to find summer employment so she decided to take a dab at writing a novel. That summer Mahogany wrote 50 pages towards that novel, that is now "Freshmen Honey's". And the rest is history.
Mahogany Woodland graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2006, with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Studies. She then attended the George Washington University School of Business for graduate school and graduated in 2008 with a Masters in Tourism Administration. However, she always had a passion and desire to work in a field that would impact lives; especially the lives of children. For that reason, she began to pursue a career in teaching through the Prince George’s County Resident Teacher program; an alternative certification program for non-education majors. Mahogany is currently a Special Education teacher in the county that she grew up in.
